I would hardly call some of these designs functional. Several of these designs leave vital organs exposed. The main point of armor is to offer protection to to the body, especially vital organs. Don't get me wrong though, this art is still pretty incredible!
most of them (the ones that don't have a hole in the torso/chest area) are pretty functional, i think. that's why i said i really liked the yellow outfit. though i do think that all the flowing cloth would get in the way of movement.
If I might just pop in here!- The yellow design is more or less functional apart from the uh - chest area. There is metal plating over the breasts, yes, but they trace the shape of the breasts and there is a gap in between them, a piece of metal separating the breasts, and by the looks of it that piece of metal is closer to her body than the "cups". Impact would focus straight onto that piece of metal and has the potential to seveeerely hurt her - bye, sternum! Sorry I just felt the need to uh - sliide that information in, haha..now I'll just kinda fly away !
